I spent a good portion of the morning getting a pile of stuff ready for the Rossingtons to take to Emily. They are heading to Kenya for a conference on Friday and have offered to see Emily and give her a few things from us. This coming weekend is RVA’s mid-term so Emily will be in Nairobi as well. She will be staying with the Moffitt family. They live on the compound adjacent to the one Emily grew up on. She and their daughter, Natalie have been good friends most of their lives!
This afternoon we got a good rain storm! Mark has a used pump here that he is thinking of buying and the owner said Mark could bring it home to try it out. We let the rain water fill up a barrel and then Mark pumped it up to our overhead tank. It was pretty exciting, actually, since we haven’t had water in the tank for so long! He let the first water go because it was dirty but the rest of it was clean. He pumped up a couple of barrelfuls which means I can do a little laundry! Yeah! The washing machine at the house here unfortunately cannot be handfilled so we are dependent on the tank water for laundry.
